Abstract

Presentation Description : Ophthalmology has the potential to be among the first medical specialties to be fundamentally transformed by new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI). Despite much high profile research in this area, there remains a paucity of AI systems being used for actual clinical care. In my presentation, I will describe the processes required to go "from code to clinic", including clinical validation, regulatory clearance, integration and delivery, and scaleable business models.

This abstract was presented at the 2024 ARVO Annual Meeting, held in Seattle, WA, May 5-9, 2024.
