Abstract

Presentation Description : I will provide an overview of our studies on dynamic cellular processes in the RPE. We have considered that an appreciation of these processes requires liv-cell imaging with high temporal and spatial resolution. Thus, we have used spinning disk confocal microscopy, which we have complemented with super-resolution (SIM) microscopy. Our focus has been on roles of the cytoskeleton and its molecular motors in driving organelle motility and photoreceptor outer segment tip ingestion.
