Abstract

Presentation Description : This presentation consolidates findings from two investigative studies, underscoring the pivotal role of Virtual Reality (VR) in evaluating and developing innovative clinical endpoints for inherited retinal diseases, with a focus on retinitis pigmentosa (RP). Initially, we delve into a novel mobility test, which, through meticulous validation in both real and virtual environments, demonstrates paramount reproducibility and reliability. Subsequently, the discussion pivots to a study concerning a VR-based visual search task, conducted with the same population. Collectively, these studies fortify VR’s potential in devising novel clinical endpoints within ophthalmology.
