Abstract
Presentation Description :
It has been years since the first and so far only approved contact lens sensor came to the market, first in Europe, then in the US and Japan. It monitors IOP-related ocular volume changes over 24 hours to help clinicians to adjust and personalize glaucoma treatments.
A quick look at technical and normative hurdles will illustrate the challenges one faces to bring a contact lens sensor to the market. And we will try to understand what other promising parameters could and should be monitored with a biosensor contact lens rather than any other device.
Last but not least we’ll take a quick glimpse into the future to try to unveil what to expect in terms of new contact lens sensors. Will we finally be seeing absolute IOP measurements from a smart contact lens?
